No more Ms. Novack and her snide remarks and rolling of her eyes during meetings. I sure won't miss that. The 72 people who live on Lindsay and submitted letters protesting the SportsComplex will hopefully now have a representative who won't tell them to quit compalining, and suck it up for the good of the elite sports teams who want a central location for their games and practices.

Besides, she's a FIB, what does she know about Wisconsin politics and local values?

I agree, I always considered the snide comments and eye rolling a bit rude and childish. Now if the council could just get Kiser to show up on time once in awhile and stop wearing sweatpants and t-shirts !

To his credit, those sweatpants he wears are from his "Kiser Klassy Wear" Collection. They're the creme de la creme of recreational athletic apparel.

I'm sorry, i know very little of Novacks actions during meetings, however your post did little to establish yourself as anything more than a whining, self-entitled, uneducated wisconsinite. If kathy was rolling her eyes and such, then shame on her. but to have you call her a FIB and ask what she knows about local values, that shows real class on your part. I guess values are different from state to state, they may not worship the packers, brats, brett favre, beer, brett favre, and brett favre in illinois, but that doesn't mean values still don't apply. Not all illinois people are without values, maybe kathy was, but your lump assessment discredits your whole post on not being treated fairly by the council.

maybe one should remove the plank for their own eye, before removing the splinter from someone elses.

    Dale,

Will you be participating in the Pewaukee River Run this year? If so, will you be looking for a partner? I think if we teamed up my almost-super-human strength along with your legendary leadership skills, none of the other boats stand a chance. Plus we can write off the entrance fee to the city.

    Let me know.

    Dale,

I noticed you have yet to respond to my invite to participate in the River Run. After I thought about it, I realized I really imposed on you to write-off the entrace fee of $25 to the city. So, I went ahead and used your Aldemanic Privilege and told the local liquor stores that if they don't "sponsor" us, someone's license may not get renewed. So, not only did I get us "sponsored" I also got us free matching "Bacardi Limon" tshirts. No need to thank me - just looking out for both of us.

    Dale--
I see the council has allowed the police department to submit for a federal grant for an additional officer. I am really confused here. I reviewed the police department study we tax payers paid for last year which showed we were adequately staffed. I have a real problem with taking federal money just because it is there. This was my fear with this program (free federal money, no such thing). As a taxpayer, I am concerned about giving handouts where they are not needed. We should be paying our own way. Follow the example of City of Brookfield a few years ago and say no to this because it isn't right.

Did you do your home work on this? If we in fact need additional officers, why has it taken so long for the latest investigation where we have an officer out for 5 months? This is absurd! If we don't have enough officers, then why did we put an officer in the county drug unit when other communities in these rough times are taking them out? The county should be self supporting, and don't tell me we will get back the city taxpayers' costs for the officer from asset forfeitures, because that never will happen. Dale, who’s watching the henhouse?

Dale, I really am looking forward to racing against you and Duke. I hope you're ready to lose. If anyone is interested, let me know. I will be holding tryouts for my partner in this race. I only except winners, so Kathy need not apply!

    Dale,

Don't let Jack come into your "Virtual Living Room" and talk smack like that. I say we place a little wager on the race. Let's bet some of that Federal Stimulus money that Jack Sparrow and his partner Fermin Rivera don't even make it onto the podium.

Also Dale, what precautions are in place to assure that all River Run participants will be safe from hijaking pirates? We're fine while still in the Village, but once we get into the area where there hasn't been a properly functioning police force for years(City of Pewaukee) anything can happen.

One more thing, Dale - what should our team name be? I need to get the shirts finalized.

    Dale,

Are you still alive? Is everything ok? If I don't hear from you by noon today, I'm going to send my butler over to your house to make sure you didn't go all Chris Benoit or Keith Ledger on us.

I am still here. Just been extremely preoccupied with issues more relevant to your River Run discussion.

No I will not be joining you so you will have to find another partner or go it alone. You will also have to pay your own entrance fee. No free rides.

Regarding the Pirates. We plan on doing nothing about any Pirates, because here in Pewaukee we are the Pirates. But I doubt that anyone will be hijacked. Unless you use your solid gold canoe.

I also respectfully disagree with your statement alleging that the CPPD has not functioned properly for years. While I admit we have had more than our share of problems with certain members of the department, the department as a whole has done a good job. You may want to throw out the whole bushel of apples because a some are bruised, but I do not.

Now if you will excuse me, I must get back to work.

    Dale,

What's wrong? You seem tense. You know you can call me anytime just to talk.

I'm begging you - don't back out on me now! I just perfected my canoe. I've been experimenting and upon my 34th prototype, I think I finally got the carbon fiber - titanium combo right. So, in honor of my 34th attempt at canoe perfection and our first name initials, I am suggesting to call ouselves "Team 34DD". What do you think?

Dale, please don't make me ask Ald. Doug Kiser to paddle with me. His sweat pants will clash with our Bacardi Limon race jerseys.

You replied to Duke LaCrosse, but not to my post of 4/13 questiong the council allowing the CPPD to apply for the federal grant, etc.

    Awaiting your reply. . .

    Dale,

Anonymous is right - you've pretty much abandoned this website like a baby in a duffel bag. Since you've turned your back on it like a scorned housewife, I'll step up and grab the reigns.

I'm just going to throw some ideas out to the public. Please, public, let me know what you think. Let's have a round table discussion...

    ITEM 1:
The Pewaukee mascot is the Pirate. In lieu of recent events, I'm sure we're all aware that our Pirate costume is outdated and needs to be brought up to a modern look. Here is what I am suggesting: We need to lose the eye patch, bandana, and peg leg. Substitute that with the one skinny black kid in the school. He can wear some dirty clothes and carry a mock AK-47. If there are no skinny black kids in Pewaukee, we can bus one in.

    ITEM 2:
Our Common Council has not institued a policy blocking a potential mandatory time off law like so many of our neighbors have done. Our coucil needs to do pretty much everything (short of sexual favors, and even that line should be blurry) to keep all the industry and corporations in the P-wauk. We need to send the message "that bleeding-heart liberal time off crap belongs in Milwaukee, not Pewaukee".

    ITEM 3
Dale Noll hates the Kiwanis Club, as he does not want to participate in their event, the River Run.

I am sorry. I missed your posting.

I am not a big fan of 'free' money either. There is no such thing a free money, that is true. I wish simply turning down money would be enough to send the message up the political food chain, but it is not. If we do not apply for the grant money, the money will still be spent. We will all pay our portion to the feds and that money will go somewhere else. While I do not like it, the reality is we either apply for the grant in hopes that money that Pewaukee taxpayers are going to be paying can come back to benefit Pewaukee in some way or we let that money benefit some other community that gets the grant. The grant may not be ideal, but it is not something we can change on the local level just by refusing to participate.

The study did in fact show that we were not over staffed. It also did not show we were under staffed. The grant request, if we even get it, is for paying the salary for a three year period. During the course of that time, I suspect we will have some changes in the city and the department. If we decide we do not need that position at the end of the the grant period, the position can go away, but there is another position, not funded by the grant that has become vacant, it is possible we can get a fully trained and experienced officer for that position. That to me is not such a bad deal.

Your reply (complete with political song and dance) doesn’t address my questions about there being an officer off for 5 months and another officer going to the country drug unit. Is the vacancy you’re referring to for the replacement of the officer that was sent to the drug unit?

I have nothing that I can say on that topic as I know nothing about it. It is an issue internal to the department and the department is not under the direct control of the Common Council. The Mayor is the head of the police department. The Council has not been informed on the nature of the situation or the status of any investigations.

It may sound like a song and dance, but it is the truth.
