At the end of October 2008, ten of us went on a trip to the Hatfield & McCoy Trail system outside of Gilbert West Virginia. This is a really nice trail system with a variety of trail difficulties ranging from easy to extreme.

Unfortunately, due to an accident, two of our group stayed behind when we returned. One in the hospital, his wife at his side.

While traveling eastbound in the left lane of I-94 the morning of 10/01/2008, a semi truck in the center lane drifted into our lane. Though I honked the horn and began to slow down, the truck struck the passenger side of the vehicle. Is swerved to the left and struck a construction barrel which readily removed the driver side mirror. The truck continued on it's merry way. I was unable to get a license plate or positive ID on it. There was a witness, who barely escaped hitting my rear end as we stopped, who verified that the I was not at fault and the truck did enter into my lane. The Deputy who handled the incident was not confident that we would ever locate the driver of the truck.
